Sacramento, CA — On Saturday, August 14th, two trusts of the Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC) – the Legal Defense Fund (LDF) and Insurance and Benefits Trust (IBT) – partnered with Wolfpack Racing as the primary sponsors of the #47 Chevrolet Camaro driven by Kyle Weatherman for Mike Harmon Racing (MHR) in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Weatherman finished in 16th place on Saturday’s event. To view the full results, please click here. PORAC – California’s largest law enforcement association and the largest statewide law enforcement association in the country – has been a previous sponsor of Weatherman at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and today’s race further showcases MHR’s support for law enforcement professionals and the resources available to rank-and-file officers.
“We are thrilled that these PORAC trusts are expanding on our partnership with Kyle, Mike Harmon Racing and the Wolfpack Racing team to show support for law enforcement and raise awareness of the incredible benefits the LDF and IBT make available for peace officers across the country,” said Brian Marvel, President of the Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC). “The law enforcement profession is not an easy one, and PORAC is proud to offer our members top-notch benefits through our trusts to ensure assistance, protection and representation for the men and women serving our American communities as they face the increasing challenges that come with the job today. We are grateful to partner with Kyle and his team to spread the word about these important benefits and are rooting for him this season.”
PORAC has a 67-year history of advocating for policies and laws that will help officers carry out their duties safely and effectively while also protecting the rights and benefits of the law enforcement community through the PORAC trusts:
- Legal Defense Fund – The nation’s oldest, largest and most respected public safety legal plan including cost covering programs for court costs, expert witnesses and other expenses that could make or break a case, along with 24/7 emergency legal response services following a critical incident.
- Insurance & Benefits Trust – Ensuring PORAC members and their families are always covered and prepared for unexpected accidents or illnesses, medical expenses and home or auto incidents by providing comprehensive insurance products at a reasonable cost.
“Throughout my life I have seen the service, sacrifice and dedication that the men and women in the law enforcement profession demonstrate every day and am proud to support organizations that work to protect and support our officers,” said Kyle Weatherman. “I am proud to once again partner with PORAC and help to raise awareness for peace officers across the country about the value of a PORAC membership and the PORAC trusts that are there for officers when they need them most.”
