Pre-Service Applicants: Currently in a POST-certified academy program.
Applicants that are enrolled or currently attending, a POST approved Basic Police Academy, will get paid as a part-time Police Officer Trainee at $40.38 per hour.
Upon graduation from a POST approved Basic Police Academy, applicants will receive the full-time Police Officer salary of $7,920 per month.
Lateral Applicants: Currently employed (and completed probation) as a Peace Officer with a POST recognized California Law Enforcement Agency OR currently employed as Peace Officer (and completed probation) in another State combined with a California POST Waiver of Attendance Certificate. Must possess POST Basic certificate (must be attached to application).
