Police Officer (Pre-Service or Lateral)

Salary Range: $7,920.00 - $9,627.00 Monthly

The Irwindale Police Department strongly believes in our mission to provide excellent service in policing by partnering with the community to enhance the quality of life. Professionalism, Integrity, Accountability, and Respect are the core values of our agency. This recruitment is for Academy Trained or Lateral applicants only (see qualification details below).

Academy Trained Applicants: Currently in a POST-certified academy program or graduated from a POST-certified academy program within the past 6 months.

Lateral Applicants: Currently employed (and completed probation) as a Peace Officer with a POST recognized California Law Enforcement Agency OR currently employed as Peace Officer (and completed probation) in another State combined with a California POST Waiver of Attendance Certificate. Must possess POST Basic certificate (must be attached to application).

Additional incentives for POST certificates, Higher Education Degrees, Bilingual Pay, and Assignment Pay

3.5% COLA Effective July 2026

Salary Range: $84,499 - $102,709 Annually
Top Step Officer: $128,485*
*Top step includes POST pay (5%), education pay (7.5%), holiday pay (140 hours), and bilingual pay (2.5%)
