Participants will have a better understanding of SbC and be better equipped to identify precursors and potential incidents of SbC; Be better prepared to de-escalate suicidal subjects with the goal of reducing violent encounters with suicidal subjects; and, in the event that there is a completed act of SbC, be better prepared to investigate the suicidal actions of the subject and responses with the goal of preventing future SbC events.

One-Day Class, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Participants in the Force Science Intensive Certification Program gain an in-depth understanding of the unbiased truths and scientific realities that govern an officer’s performance in stressful situations. These include aspects such as reaction time, memory, decision-making, and more during complex, rapidly unfolding encounters. This hybrid course adopts a comprehensive approach, utilizing both in-person instruction and self-paced online learning. The program consists of three and a half in-person days, coupled with online studies, culminating in a total of 40 training hours.
