Deputy Andrew Nunez was responding to a call of a man with a gun when he was shot by an armed suspect upon arrival. Fellow deputies and paramedics provided lifesaving aid, but despite their efforts, Deputy Nunez succumbed to his injuries.

While helping the motorists, Officer Craven was struck by another vehicle. Despite lifesaving efforts by responding officers, Officer Craven succumbed to her injuries.
