In this season’s first episode – Standing Up for Officer Privacy Rights Against DOJ Forced Gender Disclosure Requirement – we took a closer look at PORAC’s significant legal victory for officer privacy rights against the DOJ. Earlier this year, AG Bonta sought to implement an illegal and unconstitutional new regulation that would have forced officers to disclose their gender identities to the biased Racial and Identity Profiling Advisory Board (RIPA). PORAC’s legal team – Tim Talbot and Dave Mastagni – successfully fought against the DOJ policy on the grounds that it violated California’s Fair Employment and Housing Act. In this latest episode, President Marvel invited Tim and Dave onto the podcast, who specialize in labor law with an emphasis on public safety representation, to talk about how PORAC stood up for our members and all peace officers in filing suit.
