The average American now has over $38,000 in personal debt, excluding mortgages. Managing troubled finances can cause physical health issues, insomnia, absences from work, depression and put a strain on personal and family relationships. It clouds judgement, forces exhaustion from too much overtime and creates mental fatigue. During this instruction, students will learn the importance of being financially healthy and how it affects their ability to perform their job duties. We will give you tools to determine your overall financial health. We will break down the five factors that make up your credit score, review actual credit reports and teach officers how to read their own credit report. The examples shown will confidentially show what law enforcement personnel go through and solutions to address these issues.
