The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office is recruiting for the positions of District Attorney Investigator and Senior Investigator (Penal Code 830.1). Currently, the Office employs 60 sworn Investigators serving 230 prosecutors. DA Investigators perform criminal investigations, collect evidence, prepare search warrants, and arrest offenders, as well as locate individuals and serve subpoenas.
Investigators are assigned a take-home unmarked police vehicle, as assignments are located at various offices throughout the nation’s largest geographical County. Assignments include trial preparation, real estate fraud, public corruption, human trafficking, auto insurance fraud, child abduction, workers compensation fraud, environmental crimes, consumer fraud, auto theft, workplace deaths, cold case homicides, and the Special Response Team.
Investigator classification will promote to the Senior Investigator classification after completing a one-year probation. 3@50 reciprocity at the County’s Tier 1 level is available to those who were hired in a position of 830.1 or 830.2 prior to 2013, and have not had a break in service for longer than 180 days.
