Salary Range: $62,291 - $80,748 + Relocation expense assistance

Join an energetic, collaborative, forward-thinking police department with the City of Riverton, which borders the Wind River Indian Reservation and is nestled in the Wind River Valley of the Rocky Mountains. The City of Riverton is seeking experienced patrol supervisors to join the Riverton Police Department. The ideal candidate must be able to motivate and lead by example through honesty and integrity. The ideal Police Lieutenant candidate will have experience in most of the following fields:

The City of Riverton, WY currently has immediate employment opportunities for Police Officers.  Police Officers from other states are encouraged to apply. Relocation allowance is available for lateral transfers!

The Riverton Police Department is currently seeking lateral transfers or recently retired law enforcement officers to join our team.

Wyoming is a state which has:

  • No state income tax
  • No state tax on retirement income
  • Low property tax
  • Low sales tax rates.
  • Wyoming Peace Officer retirement vested in as little as 4 years of service.

  • Local small farmland available near Riverton

LATERAL APPLICANTS: 
Lateral applicants must possess a minimum of two years of civilian full-time paid uniform patrol experience and should currently be certified as a Peace Officer in Wyoming or in a state with a reciprocity agreement with Wyoming, as per Wyoming Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Rules and Regulations, Chapter 3, Section 7(c)(i)(A).

Physical Agility test waiver for current or recently retired peace officers may be available.

*Note: Lateral status will be determined by the Wyoming POST Challenge Program.
