Police Officer - (2 Positions)

Pasadena City College is currently seeking 2 full-time Police Officer to patrol the campus on foot, vehicles following all rules and laws, operate emergency equipment, spotlight and patrol in all lighting conditions. Participate in crime prevention activities by detecting sounds associated with criminal behavior-breaking glass, distress calls; observe vehicles or persons and record description of color, size, direction of travel, or other details. Apprehend violators by overcoming resistance using physical force necessary to effect an arrest including handcuffing violent persons, issuing citations, and completing written reports. Provide security for large gatherings, assemblies, or athletic events by standing for long periods of time in one location in adverse weather conditions, listening for suspicious sounds, walking up stadium or auditorium stairs, and observing details of persons or events in the day and night time.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from high school or possession of a GED, AND Graduation from a POST approved regular basic academy course within three years from date of application OR a valid POST Basic Certificate and completion a recertification course within the past three years.

Salary Range: $46,387.20 - $51,142.08 Annually

Pasadena City College is currently seeking a full-time Police Dispatcher that establishes priorities and performs all the clerical tasks and services related to Police/Safety Services. Communicates clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Answers emergency and routine calls from Police/Safety personnel via radio and telephone. Answers emergency and routine calls from students, staff, guests, and public safety departments via telephone. Maintains communication with units on assignment, status and location of all field units. Maintains daily logs, reports and other documents relating to public safety activities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from high school or possession of a GED. Successful completion of the POST Public Safety Dispatcher Course and possession of current POST Public Safety Dispatcher Certificate or the ability to obtain within one year of employment.
