The ideal candidate for Police Lieutenant will be an experienced, ethical, innovative, self-motivated, professional police supervisor/manager with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.  They will possess the ability to perform complex administrative duties, oversee investigations, manage bureau operations and budget, and have strong administrative and personnel skills.

The Visalia Police Department is seeking a Police Captain who is an experienced, ethical, innovative, self-motivated, professional police manager with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Requirements include graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in criminal justice, police science, public administration or related field, two or more years of supervisory and management experience in police service, equivalent to the rank of Lieutenant or above, POST Advanced Certificate, and possession of firearms qualification
