The Newark Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency providing 24/7 public safety services to the community including Police, Records and Communications, a Dispatch Center, and Animal Services.  The Department is comprised of 70 full-time staff (58 sworn) assigned to three divisions: Field Operations, Support Services, and the Office of the Chief. 

The ideal candidate will have at least ten years of broad and extensive experience in all major areas of police work, including five years in a command position with a municipal law enforcement agency and a track record of contributions and advancements in the profession.
