Law enforcement members, supporters, survivors and their families and friends came together at the California Peace Officers’ Memorial Monument in Sacramento on May 1 and 2 to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. This year’s California Peace Officers’ Memorial Ceremony, which included 28 officers who passed away between 2018 and 2021, as well as eight others from previous years, was the largest memorial in state history. These brave heroes join the more than 1,500 law enforcement officers who have given their all since California became a state. While solemn and emotional for all in attendance, the event was important because it allowed families to see their loved ones formally memorialized and honored for their sacrifice. PORAC thanks our nation’s heroes and promises we will never forget.
