DEFINITION: Under direction from the Commander and Chief of Police: oversee and participate in all work activities, related to the enforcement of laws, the prevention of crimes, general investigations of crimes, accidents, and cases; to coordinate investigations with other agencies; to perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility and administrative tasks in support of the Police Department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelors degree or higher from an accredited college or university is highly desirable. Experience in lead, supervisory or field training officer capacity is desirable. Qualifications

Licenses/Certificates
Possession of a valid California Class C driver license. Completion of a basic Handgun and rifle armorer course. A National Rifle Association Small Arms Instructor’s Certificate and a POST approved Range Master Certificate must be obtained within one (1) year of hire date. Comparable certificates may quality if approved by the Chief of Police.
